Stoky City made the biggest move during the winter transfer market by spending nearly £19 million on FC Porto’s Giannelli Imbula, but they were almost beaten by Leicester City, who where keen on signing former Brazil and Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Ronaldinho rejected to join the Premier League leading Foxes during the latter moments of the January window.
The former football star has been without a club since leaving Fluminense in September, with the Foxes being keen to add the Brazilian to their squad as they are pushing for a crazy run at the Premier League crown.
But the 35-year-old rejected a move to the King Power Stadium and is reportedly holding out for a move to the Chinese Super League after a series of big name players, like Jackson Martinez, Fredy Guarin and Gervinho, made the move to China in the month of January.
This should not come as a suprise considering Chinese clubs are willing to pay enormous wages to star players in order to lure them to their growing football competition, and their transfer market doesn’t end until February 26.
