Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has taken a swipe at former club manager Jurgen Klopp.
The current Liverpool manager enjoyed a successful time with the Bundesliga club and won two league titles and one domestic cup during his time with the club. He also led them to the finals of 2012-13 Champions League.
However, his final season with the Bundesliga club was rather an unforgettable one as he led them to the seventh position in the league table.
Mkhitaryan, who arrived at Signal Iduna Park in the summer of 2013, struggled to find his best form under Klopp.
Nevertheless, the Armenian international has flourished this season, and he has credited current manager Thomas Tuchel with the improvement in his form.
The 27-year-old believes that Tuchel, following his arrival in summer, has employed a more attacking brand of football, and that has helped with the resurgence in his form.
He told Bleacher
“When Klopp was here, we were playing another kind of football, more counter-attacks, more powerful, more pressing.
“When Tuchel came, we started to play a different kind of football. We try to keep the ball more, we try to pass it more and play very offensive football.
“Because of the changes, I got a lot of confidence.”
Meanwhile, far from his criticism, Klopp seems to be enjoying his time at Liverpool. Watch him nutmegging Roberto Firmino in the following video:
