The Sun published a report claiming that Manchester United have lodged a new £144 million bid for Barcelona star Neymar.
The Red Devils are one of the clubs interested in the Brazil international and have made attempts to sign the player in the past.
The report further claims that Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested in the 23-year old, but the Red Devils currently lead the race to secure his services.
The story has been published following the claims from the player’s father, Neymar Senior, that an unknown club had lodged a £144 million bid for his son.
He made these claims to a judge in a Spanish court and also mentioned that the club is not Real Madrid. Neymar and his father are currently under investigation for the alleged case of corruption and fraud.
The Sun has speculated that the club in question is Manchester United.
Neymar is having a spectacular season for the Catalan club and has scored 19 goals and provided 13 assists for them. He also finished third in the race for Ballon d’Or this year.
