Rumours about a series of potential summer transfer window moves have been aplenty, with nearly all Premier League giants setting their sights on deals with stars from the Italian Serie A.
First up, Arsenal have been chasing Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain for some time now. The Argentine striker has scored 24 goals in 25 league appearances for the Partenopei this season.
Spanish news outlet Fichajes reports that the Gunners might have to pay a whopping £70 million to sign the 28-year-old, a price which is said to be in a similar region to Higuain’s release clause.
However, according to The Daily Mail, Higuain’s agent and brother Nicolas has stated that both Arsenal and Chelsea have no chance to sign the striker, as he’s planning to stay with Napoli.
Recently, also Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang dealt a serious blow to Arsenal’s transfer dreams.
Next, Manchester United are looking at Fiorentina youngster Federico Bernardeschi to join their squad. The 22-year-old has impressed this season, forcing his way into the Viola’s starting lineup and providing five goals and four assists in 29 appearances for the club.
According to the Sun, the Red Devils will have to battle Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain for the winger’s signature, who is rated at around £20 million.
Meanwhile, United reportedly have completed the transfer of Lazio’s Felipe Anderson, which was denied by the Serie A club pretty quickly, and are, according to The Guardian, also interested in Inter’s Mauro Icardi and Miranda.
Third, Liverpool are keen on signing a new goalkeeper to provide competition for Simon Mignolet, according to Liverpool Echo. The Reds are big fans of Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, who’s still just 16 years old and only made his professional debut this season.
However, it is also claimed that Barcelona have already made an offer of £23.5 million for the keeper. The Reds are also exploring other options, as they have been following Betis goalkeeper Antonio Adan.
A couple of days ago, Juventus’ star Paul Pogba hinted at a possible move to Manchester City by claiming that he wishes to work with Pep Guardiola in the future.
