Zlatan Ibrahimovic has hinted that he might move to the Premier League next season, according to The Daily Mail.
The 34-year-old’s contract in Paris expires at the end of the season, and few expect him to stay with PSG. However, no one really knows what Zlatan wants to do next season.
It looks like he will join the MLS at some point in his career, with the expectation that he’ll play for David Beckam’s Miami-based team in 2017.
However, that leaves options open for the 2015-16 season and Ibrahimovic hinted at a move to the Premier League after scoring the opening goals in PSG’s 2-1 Champions League win against Chelsea.
“I have another three months here and then what will happen? Big things will happen.
“Is the Premier League something I fancy? Let’s just say I’m in shape,” Ibrahimovic said.
The striker earns around £249,000 per week with the Paris club, which narrows the number of possible Premier League destinations to three, maybe four teams.
Manchester United could be considered the front runners to sign the man who has provided 21 goals and eight assists in 20 Ligue 1 appearances this season…if Jose Mourinho becomes their coach next season.
Ibrahimovic became Serie A’s top scorer under the Portuguese guidance, while winning the title with Inter during the 2008/2009 season.
Chelsea could also join the race, but the Blues’ chances depend on their new coach. Than there’s Manchester City, who could pay Ibrahimovic, but the Swede doesn’t like Pep Guardiola, while Arsenal could surprise everyone.
