Football agent Mino Raiola has given a huge update on the transfer rumours surrounding a couple of his star clients.
First up: Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish striker is out of contract with Paris Saint-Germain and is considering his options for next season. Raiola confirmed that the 34-year-old is courted by a number of major European clubs.
However, one Premier League giant has not bid for Ibrahimovic. “Apart from Manchester City, who will be managed by Pep Guardiola, all the big clubs have knocked on the door,” he said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The star striker played under the Spaniard at Barcelona, but never quite made the impact he wanted to make. He left the Primera Division giants after just two seasons, of which one on loan at AC Milan.
Raiola also revealed every big Serie A club has shown interest in bringing Ibrahimovic back to Italy. “Even Napoli, but they are only good at making movies.
“But PSG are also doing all that they can to sign him to an extension. Paris remains an option.”
Everyone expects the 22-year-old to leave Italian champions Juventus after this season, but according to his agent, Pogba won’t just walk away from the Old Lady.
“Nothing has changed compared to a year ago,” Raiola said. “Juventus won’t accept anything less than €100 million (£79 million) for his sale and I agree with that, though he is more than happy to remain with the Bianconeri. We are even ready to sign a new contract.”
Next: Romelu Lukaku. The Everton striker has scored 25 goals in just 37 appearances this season and is ready to take the next step in his young career, with his father favouring a move to Manchester United or Bayern Munich.
But Raiola sees other strong candidates for the Belgian. “Moving to Juventus could be a great move, but watch out for PSG and Real Madrid.”
Last one: Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan has been rumoured to be unhappy in Paris, with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, and Juventus looking to add him next summer.
However, if Ibrahimovic leaves PSG, the 29-year-old could also stay in France. “PSG could decide to keep hold of him, so don’t say Cavani is set to leave.”
Raiola also noted that the Ligue 1 champions are unwilling to pay €90 million (£71 million) for Napoli striker and United target Gonzalo Higuain “as the price of oil has gone down.”
