During the last couple of days, transfer rumours linking Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze to Liverpool have intensified. Recently, Sky Sports also confirmed that the Reds are interested in signing the 23-year-old.
Gotze will have one year left on his contract in the summer, and reports have suggested that a bid of around £20 million would be enough to bring him to Anfield.
However, Liverpool fans are still displaying a lot caution regarding a potential deal. The following tweet perfectly sums up the reason:
Absolutely refusing to get my hopes up on Gotze though.
Just a few of the reasons why.

Would be sick having Gotze at Liverpool, but we’ll probably end up with Danny Drinkwater #GotzeLFC

Meanwhile, Gotze has also been linked to former club Borussia Dortmund, where he blossomed under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp. But the 23-year-old has also been on the transfer radar of Italian champions Juventus, who tried to sign him last summer.
The German international joined Bayern Munich in the summer of 2013 on a £27.75 million transfer from Dortmund. One year later, Gotze made the winning goal for Germany in the 2014 World Cup final in Brazil.
