There’s some good news for Manchester United and England fans. Left-back Luke Shaw is expected to return to first-team training next week, according to a report in the Telegraph.
The 20-year old has been missing in action since suffering a double leg fracture in the Champions League tie against PSV Eindhoven back in September.
According to the report, he is expected to return in the next seven to ten days and could feature for United during the closing stages of the Premier League season.
A spot in the Three Lions’ squad for the Euro Championships seems like a long shot for Shaw, but manager Roy Hodgson will be keeping a close watch on his progress. Hodgson has previously suggested that he will consider taking Shaw to France if he can prove his fitness before the end of the season.
After a lukewarm debut season for the Red Devils, Shaw made an impressive start to the current season. He made eight appearances for United before suffering the unfortunate injury in a challenge from PSV defender Hector Moreno.
