Arsenal have maintained a long-term interest in Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.
According to the latest report from Daily Mail, the Gunners have stepped up their pursuit of the Swiss international, and the move is expected to be finalized when the German transfer window opens on July 1.
The report also claims that there remains a difference in the valuation of the player by both clubs, but the Bundesliga club expect their player to depart in the summer.
The Gunners have reportedly bid £20 million for the 23-year-old, but Monchengladbach are supposedly holding out for a £30 million fee for their player.
The report further claims that the North London club have reignited their interest in Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
Arsenal have tried to sign the French striker on more than one occasion, but have failed to strike a deal to bring the 28-year-old to the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners are in the market to add a world-class striker to their ranks in the summer, and will once again approach Real Madrid for Benzema in the summer.
