Manchester City have added Arsenal forward Theo Walcott to their transfer wish list. In an exclusive report, London Evening Standard claims that incoming manager Pep Guardiola is a fan of the pacey forward and has asked City keep a watch over him.
Walcott has endured a difficult season at the Emirates Stadium and Arsene Wenger recently suggested that his future might not lie with the North London club.
The 27-year-old has lost his place in Wenger’s starting eleven and hasn’t started a league game since his abject performance in the 3-2 defeat against Manchester United in February.
He has also seemed to have lost support of the fans as his latest substitute appearance at Emirates Stadium was greeted with boos. His recent performances have also put his place in the England’s Euro 2016 squad in jeopardy.
Walcott signed a new £140,000-a-week deal with the Gunners at the start of the current season and his current contract runs until 2019.
Arsenal are in a strong position due to the length of Walcott’s contract and expected to demand a sizeable fee for their player.
