AS Roma striker Edin Dzeko will be allowed to leave for Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to Daily Express.
The Reds are reportedly interested in the former Manchester City and according to the report, Roma will allow him to leave if they can sign Sevilla forward Kevin Gameiro.
The Giallorossi are planning to offer £6.2 million and the talented Antonio Sanabria, who’s played on loan at Sporting Gijon, to Sevilla in order to secure the signing of the French forward.
Dzeko moved to City in a £27 million move from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in January 2011 and won two Premier League titles and one FA Cup during his time with the club. He moved to Serie A last summer, but could manage only eight goals in 28 league appearances for the Rome side.
Meanwhile, Liverpool midfielder Luis Alberto is set to feature in the club’s pre-season plans after spending last season on loan at La Liga club Deportivo La Coruna.
The 23-year-old has seemed to impress Reds manager Jurgen Klopp with his performances a Deportivo, and the German manager is now planning to assess him during pre-season. Alberto scored six goals and provided seven assists in 29 league appearances last season.
Alberto’s agent, Alvaro Torres, told Spanish newspaper Marca (via Liverpool Echo): “He belongs to Liverpool and has to return. We have already been informed that he will attend the pre-season with Liverpool.
“During the transfer market in May, we know little. The first thing is to talk with Liverpool and see what opinion they have on Alberto.”
La Liga clubs Deportivo, Villarreal and Sevilla, are said to be interested in the player, and the Reds could also decide to let him leave if they receive a lucrative offer.
