Leicester City were crowned Premier League champions last week, after Tottenham gave away a two-goal lead at Chelsea to draw 2-2.
The Foxes celebrated their historical triumph with a 3-1 home win at the King Power Stadium against Everton. Jamie Vardy scored twice (and missed one of his two penalty kicks), while Andy King also scored, only for Kevin Mirallas to hit the net for The Toffees late in the game.
It was only the 35th goal Kasper Schmeichel had to concede this season, making Leicester’s defence the third best in the league behind only Tottenham (30) and Manchester United (31).
However, the 29-year-old goalkeeper has managed to provide another amazing stat this season. According to Jonny Blain, Premier League’s statman for the likes of BT Sport and BBC, Schmeichel has made 510 passes into the final third. Second (!) behind only Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas at 523.
This remains my favourite stat of the season; Passes into final third: 1st, Fabregas 523, 2nd Schmeichel 510.

The Dane and son of legend Peter Schmeichel keeps dangerous players like Yaya Toure, Alexis Sanchez, Riyad Mahrez, Dimitri Payet and Delle Ali behind him. Impressive!
Leicester finish their season with an away encounter at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea on Sunday.
