Arsenal have received a major setback in their pursuit of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy. Gunners manager Arsene Wenger recently revealed that, despite the club ready to pay the release clause of the England international, he expects him to play for the Foxes next season.
He said: “Jamie Vardy is, at the moment, at Leicester and from what I know, he will stay at Leicester.”
At the same time, reports have emerged in Italy that the North London club are interested in Inter Milan forward
The 26-year-old moved to the Nerazzurri on loan from Manchester City last summer, but following a promising start at the Serie A club his form deteriorated over the course of the season.
He managed to score only six goals for Roberto Mancini’s side, and it is believed that the former Manchester City manager is not too keen on keeping Jovetic at the club for the upcoming season.
Italian paper Corriere dello Sport (via Football-Italia) claims that Arsenal and Russian club Spartak Moscow are interested in the Montenegro international and could move for him in the summer.
It is believed that Jovetic will available for a fee of around £12 million.
