Arsenal have proved to be early moves in the current summer transfer window. The market is yet to officially open and the Gunners have already secured a major transfer coup in tenacious midfielder Granit Xhaka.
The North London have also been linked with a number of other high-profile names and one name amongst them is of Xhaka’s Swiss teammate, Ricardo Rodriguez.
The Wolfsburg star is one of the most sought-after left-backs in football at the moment and has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool.
Recently, reliable German publication Kicker reported that the Gunners are also interested in the player and are
ready to meet his release clause of £19 million.
In the aftermath of the speculation, he was recently asked about the prospect of joining his national teammate Xhaka at the Emirates Stadium.
In an interview published in Swiss newspaper Tagesanzeiger (via Arseblog) Rodriguez was asked if it’s a possibility that he will play at the same club as Xhaka, with whom he shares a room while on Swiss duty.
He said: “That would be exciting, yes, especially because the room arrangement at Arsenal would be fixed as well.”
