Arsenal’s pursuit of a striker in the transfer window doesn’t look like ending anytime soon.
The Gunners have already been rejected by Jamie Vardy of Leicester City and now it seems like they have lost to Juventus in their pursuit of Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain.
Sky Italy have claimed that the Argentina striker prefers a move to Turin while Football Italia are reporting that the officials from the two Serie A clubs will meet on Monday to discuss the possible transfer.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have started looking for backup options, and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, they have made a late enquiry for AC Milan’s Carlos Bacca.
The Colombia striker, who is expected to make a final decision on his proposed move to West Ham, recently claimed that he wants to play in Champions League next season.
The 29-year-old has also attracted interest from Atletico Madrid and he could possibly turn down a move to West Ham if one of the big clubs in Spain or England register a late interest in him.
Bacca’s camp is also expecting interest from Napoli following Higuain’s departure to Juventus. Meanwhile, AC Milan, who have already agreed a £25 million fee with West Ham, want to wrap up the deal as soon as possible.
