Gonzalo Higuain is reportedly set to leave Napoli this summer, but not for Arsenal, as the striker reportedly had a medical after already agreeing personal terms with Juventus.
Multiple reports (via Football-Italia) have claimed that the Argentina international has undergone a medical at La Moraleja hospital in Madrid and that the Serie A champions will pay the player’s £78.4 million release clause.
There are even photographs online of Higuain’s blood tests, as Juventus directors Fabio Paratici and Beppe Marotta were present, which is why they were notably absent from friday’s Serie A fixture list draw.

Recently, reports surfaced that the Old Lady and Higuain had agreed on a four-year contract, which would net the 28-year-old £6.3 million per season, making him the highest earner with the Serie A champions.
Arsenal, like Liverpool, had been heavily interested in Higuain and were linked with a shocking swap deal involving Olivier Giroud and the Napoli striker.
The Gunners were reportedly ready to offer the France international in addition to £42 million to sign the Argentina international, while the Reds had been monitoring his situation too.
It now appears Arsenal will have to focus on Inter’s Mauro Icardi after missing out on Jamie Vardy and Alexandre Lacazette. The Gunners are reportedly offering wages of £5 million per season, as well as preparing a bid of £41.7 million to convince the Serie A giants to sell the 23-year-old.
