Riyad Mahrez’s future at Leicester City has been a subject of speculation this last week. The Guardian reported that the Algerian international has refused to sign a contract extension with the Foxes and wants to leave the club this summer.
The talented winger has been linked with a lot of major clubs since his following his exploits for the Foxes season. France Football are now reporting that Pep Guardiola-led Manchester City have identified Mahrez as one of their possible summer recruits.
The report went on to claim that City are likely to make an official bid in the region of £34 million for the 25-year-old creative midfielder.
There is also a suggestion that the latest move from City is a ploy to put pressure on Schalke into selling them their primary target- Leroy Sane, who has told the Bundesliga club he wants to leave, according to The Sun.
Mahrez, who arrived at King Power Stadium in a £375,000 deal from French side Le Harve in 2014, is under contract at Leicester until 2019. Besides City, the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the Player of the Year.
