Manchester United are hoping to complete two major signings in the near future, according to ESPN.
United have been linked heavily with the French duo of Paul Pogba and Blaise Matuidi recently, but one could imagine the Red Devils would be signing only of the of those players.
Even manager Jose Mourinho suggested that in his press conference that United will be making only one more major signing this summer.
However, ESPN’s Miguel Delaney claims that United are now interested in signing both the players in the transfer window. Matuidi was initially identified as potential back-up signing to Pogba, but Mourinho’s desire to overhaul his midfield could see both Euro Cup finalists arriving at Old Trafford this summer.
United are said to be competing with Real Madrid for the services of Juventus midfielder Pogba, but many reports have deemed them to be favourites to sign their former player.
Matuidi, 29, is expected to depart from Paris Saint-Germain following Grzegorz Krychowiak’s arrival from Sevilla, while any potential deal for Pogba is likely to break the world record currently held by Gareth Bale of Real Madrid.
