With the arrival of Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, the Premier League giants were primed to hit big on the summer transfer market.
The Red Devils have already secured the services of defender Eric Bailly, midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, they aren’t done, with Mourinho announcing that a fourth transfer will be completed.
For months, that appeared to be Paul Pogba. The Juventus player once left Old Trafford on a free transfer, but United have been rumoured to put huge cash on the table to lure the France international back to England.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football-Italia), they have done just that on Monday. The Red Devils will invest a total of £151 million for Pogba, including a £100 million transfer, as Juventus begin to falter.
The report claims Mino Raiola, Pogba’s agent, is currently in Manchester, where he will discuss the possible transfer with United, as rumours are The Old Lady’s resolve is beginning to crumble.
Interesting to read, is that Juve wouldn’t take the full fee, as a gentleman’s agreement between the clubs and the midfielder would see Pogba net 20 per cent of it, meaning £20 million.
