For months, Paul Pogba has been linked with a transfer to back to Manchester United. The Juventus player once left Old Trafford on a free transfer, but United have been rumoured to put huge cash on the table to lure the France international back to England.
Last week, various Italian newspapers (via Football-Italia) claimed Pogba has told Juventus he wants to leave to the club in order to join the Red Devils. This is crucial for any deal to happen, as the Serie A champions have always said they weren’t planning to sell Pogba, unless he asks a transfer himself.
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola replied via Twitter, saying: “There is no deal done regarding Paul Pogba, lots of bla bla bla.” The Dutch agent traveled to Miami to speak with the 23-year-old about a potential transfer, which led to this mysterious Instagram post by the player:
Later on, Pogba appeared in a video by Adidas Football. The France international is reading a newspaper talking “bla bla bla” about his transfer, with Pogba replying: “Don’t believe everything you read in the papers.”

It’s hard to read anything into this. It’s a clear reference to Raiola’s quote, but no one really knows for sure what Pogba’s message is. Meanwhile, various media reports have claimed that the midfielder’s transfer to United has been stalled due to his agent demanding a massive fee.
He is due to make a £20 million commission but Juventus are refusing to pay Raiola, meaning the Red Devils will have to put the cash on the table. This would add another sum to the transfer, which is already bound to be worth at least £100 million.
Meanwhile, United could once again face competition from Real Madrid. Coach Zinedine Zidane hinted that the La Liga giants have re-entered the race for the player’s signature.
“I don’t know if he will come. Until August 31 anything can happen. Everyone is interested in Pogba. He is a great footballer and when you are Madrid, you always want the best,” he said according to The Guardian.
