Manchester United are contemplating a move for Anderlecht midfielder Youri Tielemans, according to the latest report.
The 19-year-old is one of the hottest midfield prospects in European football at the moment and has been previously
linked with moves to the Red Devils, Chelsea, and Juventus. Despite his young age, Tielemans has already made more than 100 senior appearances for his club in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
A recent report from Polish publication Weslo has claimed that United manager Jose Mourinho has already made an enquiry about the availability of the youngster.
Wisla Pulawy youngster Lukasz Plonowski, who played with Tielemans for Anderlecht’s youth team, revealed the news in an interview with the Polish news outlet.
“Youri called me up recently and said: Lukasz, do you know who called me? Mourinho! He asked if I’d take the possibility to move to Manchester United.”
Tielemans was voted the Belgian Talent of the Year in 2014 and also the Belgian Young Professional Footballer of the Year on two occasions. He was also called up to the Belgium national team by former manager Marc Wilmots for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Wales last year. However, he didn’t feature in the game.
Tielemans can play all positions in the central midfield and is valued at £17 million by Anderlecht.
