Former Real Madrid star Ronaldo has risked the anger of Liverpool fans with his latest comments.
The former Brazilian superstar has revealed that he wants to see his compatriot Philippe Coutinho play for Real Madrid in future.
“I would love to see Coutinho at Real Madrid,” Ronaldo told Spanish radio station Onda Cero, via Sky Sports.
“Spanish football is, without doubt, the best in history. It has always bought the best [players] and produced the most beautiful football.”
Both Ronaldo and Coutinho have also represented Serie A giants Inter Milan. Coutinho joined the Merseyside club from Inter in 2013 for a transfer fee of around £8m.
The 24-year-old has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world since his move to Premier League and has become a key player for Reds
He was also linked with a move to Ligue 1 champions Paris-Saint Germain recently. Reports claimed that the Parisian club are ready to break the bank for the Brazilian next summer.
Coutinho currently has a contract until 2020 with the Merseysiders and the club are reportedly in talks over a new deal with the player.
He has already scored three goals and provided two assists for the Jurgen Klopp’s side in Premier League this season.
