After a successful September, Everton boss David Moyes has been rewarded with the manager of the month award and wants to build on that success, evertonfc.com reports.

The Blues have consolidated their position in the top four after a promising start and the month saw two victories for Everton with one draw against Newcastle and a defeat to West Brom. Moyes has done remarkably once again with such a small squad and the Toffees are confident of their ability to challenge for the European positions this season.

Everton’s early season form has them in the Champions League positions and the Scotsman wants his side to stay there or thereabouts come the end of the season. Moyes said:With the quality of the Premier League, it is really hard to qualify for the Champions League but I wouldn’t say we can’t do it. It is possible and you have to aim for that.

If we fall short and end up in the Europa League, then so be it, but in recent years we have been pretty close,” the Everton boss continued.

Moyes and his backroom staff now have an international break to contend with before a trip to QPR and then the first Merseyside derby of the season at Goodison Park on the 28th October.
