Redknapp believes Bale ranks alongside Ronaldo and Messi

Harry Redknapp has compared Gareth Bale’s talents to that of world superstars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The former Tottenham manager helped turn the previously struggling Welsh left-back into a flying left-winger at White Hart Lane and according to the BBC, believes that Bale now matches up to the very best in the world.

Gareth Bale

He’s an amazing, amazing talent and he’s after the Ronaldos the Messis of this world and he’s getting better and better,” said Redknapp.

He’s almost unplayable when he’s on his game. He is a genuine world-class player. There’s nobody he couldn’t play for. He’d improve any team.

Bale has been in fine form for Tottenham this season and is currently away with the Wales national team, for whom he produced a virtuoso two-goal performance to gain Chris Coleman’s side a dramatic late win over Scotland on Friday night.

It was amazing how he turned the game around,” Redknapp added. “With 10 minutes to go you’re looking for somebody who can do something special and Gareth can do something special. He can do everything and he could play anywhere. He’s the full package.

That late victory over British rivals Scotland gave Wales their first points of their 2014 World Cup qualification campaign and will have set confidence high ahead of their testing trip to face Croatia, for whom Bale’s former Spurs teammate Luka Modric is set to feature.
