Wednesday 17 October 2012

The Ashley Cole transfer saga appears to have taken another twist with reports emerging that Paris Saint-Germain, who had been thought to be leading the chase for the England left-back, have pulled out of the race for his signature.

Indeed, the Daily Mail reports that the development opens the possibility for Cole to remain in the Premier League, with both Manchester United and Manchester City chasing the Chelsea man, who has reportedly refused to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge after its expiration at the end of this season.

It had been thought that the French heavyweights, managed by Cole’s former boss at Chelsea, Carlo Ancelotti, would make the move to secure Cole in January. But French newspaper Le Parisien quotes the Italian refuting any suggesting that the 31-year-old could arrive at the Parc des Princes.

Cole is currently away with the England squad as they prepare to face Poland for the second time after the first attempt was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
