QPR v Everton - Match preview and team news

Sunday 21 October 2012

QPR could find themselves marooned at the bottom of the table by the time they take the field against in-form Everton at Loftus Road. Despite the lack of games in the international period, the pressure only seemed to increase on R’s manager Mark Hughes as he struggles to gel his plethora of new signings together into a cohesive outfit.

Hughes does have a near fully-fit squad to choose from however for this crucial clash, with Samba Diakite now available after suspension, while defenders Jose Bosingwa, Anton Ferdinand and Armand Traore are all competing for selection after recovering from injury.

Everton have not lost in the Premier League since their defeat at West Brom at the beginning of September. However, David Moyes will just be a bit concerned heading to London, particularly as he is currently stripped of the services of the monstrous Marouane Fellaini. The Belgian, who has been key to the Toffees’ impressive early-season form has failed to recover from a knee injury although Moyes is hopeful that he will be fit to return next week.

Elsewhere, Tony Hibbert and Darron Gibson remain absent while the fixture comes just too soon for new-signing Thomas Hitzlsperger, who lacks match fitness. Up front, Nikica Jelavic is in red-hot form and will be expected to add to his tally against one of the league’s poorest defences.
