Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott believes that his side must secure wins from all four of their remaining Champions League group matches if they are to secure qualification to the knockout stages.

The Premier League champions have stuttered so far in their so called “Group of Death”, collapsing to a late defeat against Real Madrid in the Bernabeu before sneaking a point at home to Borussia Dortmund in their last clash courtesy of a last minute Mario Balotelli.

According to The Daily Mail, Lescott believes that tally leaves the Citizens in desperate need of wins, starting in Amsterdam against Ajax on Tuesday.

People are going to say the next two games are must win for us,” said the England international.

But I think every game from now until the end of the group stage are must wins for us. We can’t rely on other people to get results for us like last year.

Lescott recently lost his place at the heart of Roberto Mancini’s defence to summer recruit Matija Nastasic, though he did return for Saturday’s last-gasp 2-1 victory at West Brom that lifted the defending league champions to third in the Premier League table.
