Tottenham winger Gareth Bale will be available for selection as Andre Villas-Boas’ men travel to the South Coast to face Bale’s former club Southampton, looking to get back to winning ways following their home defeat to Chelsea in their last Premier League outing.

The Wales wide man missed the London derby as well as Spurs’ subsequent 1-1 Europa League draw in Slovenia with Maribor in midweek after the birth of his first child.

However, according to the London Evening Standard, Bale has declared himself available for the trip to relegation-threatened Southampton.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed an excellent start to the season with two goals in seven league appearances, adding to the nine in 36 he recorded last season, his best figures at White Hart Lane to date.

Following that Chelsea defeat, Tottenham currently lie fifth in the Premier League table but with fourth-placed Everton playing the following day, Spurs could move into the top four once more with a win over the Saints.
