Lloris rushed into Tottenham move, claims Deschamps

Didier Deschamps, the coach of the France national team, believes Hugo Lloris should have taken the time to speak with Andre Villas-Boas before agreeing to join Tottenham Hotspur, the Daily Mirror has reported.
Lloris moved to Spurs on the final day of the summer transfer window in late August, after the Premier League season was already underway, a factor that Deschamps believes has been integral in Lloris’ inability to dislodge Brad Friedel as first choice goalkeeper under Villas-Boas.
The 25-year-old has made only four appearances for Tottenham thus far, with only one of those coming in the Premier League. Lloris has most often been on Europa League duty with Friedel taking precedence for domestic action.
While Deschamps insisted that Lloris’ position in the national team was not under threat, he did reveal that he believes it was a mistake by Lloris to not speak with Villas-Boas before joining Tottenham.
Deschamps said: “His situation appears to me to be incomprehensible. We are not talking about a young goalkeeper but a guy who has been the France keeper for several years, who has played dozens of matches in the Champions League.
“The really important thing is that a player speaks directly with his coach and if Hugo had done that, maybe he would not have signed for Tottenham.”
