Tottenham vs Wigan - Match preview and team news

Friday 02 November 2012

Tottenham will look to continue their excellent run of form in the Premier League, when they face a struggling Wigan side at White Hart Lane.

White Hart Lane

Spurs may have won only one of their previous four games, but their league form tells a different story, with the Lilywhites having won five of their last six in the Barclays Premier League, a run of form that sees them occupy 4th spot.

Wigan have two wins in their last nine matches, and like Tottenham, were knocked out of the League Cup in midweek, to Bradford City. Last weekend Roberto Martinez's side recorded an important victory at home to West Ham, and they will be looking to build upon that result.

Spurs will have to face their fifth game in a row without Moussa Dembele in central midfield, who is expected to miss up to six weeks with a hip injury. Tom Huddlestone is expected to deputise alongside Sandro.

Jermain Defoe will lead the attack, despite a return to fitness of Emmanuel Adebayor, who has missed the last week with illness. Jake Livermore also misses out having picked up an ankle injury in midweek.

Wigan meanwhile have Ryo Miyaichi out with a groin injury, joining Albert Crusat and Antolin Alcaraz - Striker Franco Di Santo will spearhead the attack for the Latics.
