Friday 09 November 2012

The DW Stadium will host a clash between two of the division’s in-form outfits in Wigan and West Brom. The home side are on a run of only one defeat in their last four Premier League outings and are looking for a third win on the bounce after victories over West Ham and more impressively, at Tottenham.

Visitors West Brom climbed to the cusp of the Champions League places after recovering from two straight defeats to secure a comfortable home win over basement club Southampton in their last outing. However, despite their high league ranking, Steve Clarke’s side have yet to win away in the league this season.

For the home side, midfielder James McArthur is rated as 50-50 with a dead leg for the encounter while widemen Ryo Miyaichi and Albert Crust will both be missing with a groin and knee injuries. However, Roberto Martinez will be hopeful of calling upon Paraguay international defender Antolin Alcaraz after a sustained period of absence through injury.

West Brom have key midfielder James Morrison fit again after he was left out of the win over Southampton with a hamstring problem. Reserve goalkeeper Boaz Myhill could be set to continue in-between the sticks for Steve Clarke’s men, with Ben Foster doubtful with a groin injury. Steven Reid remains a long-term absentee for the Baggies.
