Cech warns against Chelsea November slump

Petr Cech has called on his Chelsea teammates to avoid the sort of winter form that in recent seasons has cost them precious points in the Premier League, the Daily Mirror has reported.

November has proven to be a troublesome month for the last few Chelsea managers, with the Mirror claiming Andre Villas-Boas, Carlo Ancelotti and Felipe Scolari have each endured spells of poor form at this time of year that have contributed to their downfall at Stamford Bridge.

This year’s vintage of Chelsea have now gone three league games without a win, losing to Manchester United in controversial circumstances and drawing away at Swansea City and at home to Liverpool, results that have seen United move top of the Premier League table and Chelsea slip to third, three points off first place and a point behind second-place Manchester City.

Cech has warned that any lead Chelsea hand their title rivals now will come back to haunt them later in the season. He said: “The Manchester clubs have been consistent in getting points. We have lost some points, as they did at the start of the season, so it looks like we will be the three teams that will chase the title.

It’s not a huge problem, as we are still at the start of the season, but any advantage you give to City or United is something they can use in the future.
