Arsenal are looking to Holland to address their ongoing goalkeeping issues, with Kenneth Vermeer the latest name linked with the north London club.

Reports in Holland suggest that the Gunners have sent scouts to watch the Ajax goalkeeper, most recently on his international debut for the Dutch, against Germany last week.

It is reported that Arsenal could make a £5m offer for the 26-year-old as early as January, which would stand a good chance of being accepted.

Arsenal have played much of the season with Vito Mannone in goal, due to injuries to Polish duo Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski. Argentine Damian Martinez has also made a couple of appearances.

Vermeer has been Ajax number one ever since the sale of Martin Stekelenburg to Roma in 2011, and his recent form has seen his call up to the Oranje, debuting with a clean sheet against rivals Germany last Wednesday.
