Brazilian star Willian, currently with Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk, is reportedly attracting the attention of Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini, who may make a move for the player in the January transfer window.

Willian

According to the Daily Mirror, Mancini is keen to sign Willian, who has impressed in his side's Champions League fixtures, and has helped his Shakhtar to top spot in Group E and into the knockout stages, contributing four goals along the way.

With Shakhtar playing in the knockout stages of the Champions League and City having been eliminated, it was thought unlikely Willian would depart for the Etihad Stadium, although Mancini may be able to call on deep financial backing to cement his interest. A more likely departure date may be in the summer, and with Shakhtar having paid £15m for Brazil international, the fee is likely to be in excess of £20m.

Mancini, who City side currently sits second behind Manchester United in the Premier League, is keen to add to his squad following their disappointing early exit from the Champions League.
