Manchester City travel to Germany to face Borussia Dortmund, aiming to claim a Europa League place by finishing third in Group D.

Signal Iduna Park

City currently sit bottom of their Champions League group, picking up just three points from five matches so far - their last victory in Europe's elite competition coming six games ago, at home to Bayern Munich almost one year ago.

Mancini's side can claim a Europa League place should they win tonight, and if Ajax fail to beat Real Madrid in the group's other game. A draw would see them progress if the Spanish side are victorious.

Dortmund come into the clash in third place in the Bundesliga, unbeaten in their last eleven matches in all competitions - star striker Robert Lewandowski helping himself to six goals from the last five league appearances.

City are also proving difficult to beat, undefeated in 11, although they have drawn five of their last eight ties, most recently away to Everton at the weekend.

Mancini will be without Spanish midfielder David Silva, who is ruled out with a hamstring injury. He joins Aleksander Kolarov and Gael Clichy on the treatment table, while Yaya Toure is suspended.

Dortmund are missing defender Neven Subotic who has a hip problem - Sebastian Kehl and Sven Bender are also likely to miss out.
