Arsenal have entered talks with Atletico Madrid over the transfer of Spanish forward Adrian, reports the Daily Mail.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger brought in France international Olivier Giroud in the summer, along with Germany’s Lukas Podolski, and the North London side have scored the third most in the Premier League so far, although less than the two Manchester sides.

With widespread and long-running reports of disputes with the contract of Theo Walcott, Arsenal have been linked with other forwards in recent weeks, and Adrian Lopez Alvarez would fit in a similar role as the England international.

Adrian, 24, is in his second season with Atletico following his move from Deportivo, and last year netted seven goals in 27 La Liga appearances, although scoring only two in 15 to date this season.

Adrian has been capped twice by the Spanish national team, and has established himself in the Atletico side in place of former Gunner Jose Antonio Reyes.
