Inter and Lazio eye Lampard move

Wednesday 02 January 2013

Serie A duo Inter and Lazio are being linked with a move for exit bound Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard, according to reports from Italy.

Frank Lampard

Only in recent weeks it was revealed that the England man would not be receiving a new contract with the Stamford Bridge club at the end of the season, and with that news, the chances of a low-cost deal in January have increased.

A report in the Italian sports daily, il Corriere dello Sport suggests that Lazio, who currently sit in second position in Serie A, will consider a move for Lampard in the coming weeks, but are also willing to wait until June to complete a deal on a free transfer.

Four years ago, under the leadership of Jose Mourinho, there were widespread reports that Inter Milan were keen on bringing Lampard to the San Siro. The report suggests that on this occasion, the midfielder has been offered to the Italian giants by agents working on behalf of the player, and the club are considering a move, even if he does not fit into the young and relatively low cost Inter side that owner Massimo Moratti is looking to build.
