Tottenham goalkeeper Lloris enjoying Premier League life

Hugo Lloris has revealed he is enjoying his first experience of winter football in the Premier League, with the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper also praising English stadiums, pitches and atmospheres, according to Sky Sports.

Hugo Lloris

Prior to his summer move to Tottenham Lloris had spent his entire career in his native France, first at Nice and then Lyon, from where he moved to White Hart Lane. French football traditionally takes a break during the Christmas and New Year period but in England, the reverse is the case - rather than powering down, fixtures are held on an even more frantic schedule than usual.

Tottenham played seven games in 28 days in December, one every four days, from the league victory over Fulham on December 1 to the win at Sunderland on December 29. The triumph over the Black Cats was Spurs’ third match in a week after drawing with Stoke City on December 22 and beating Aston Villa on Boxing Day.

Lloris said: “Mentally you have to make an effort during the festive period. There will be a few days' rest after the cup matches in January to get back freshness.

But I have fun every day. I am here to improve and push the limits in a different culture. It is important on a sporting level, but on a human level too. I am still discovering the English stadiums, the perfect pitches and the atmosphere. I have great fun.
