The agent of Frank Lampard has confirmed that the Chelsea midfielder will definitely leave Stamford Bridge when his contract expires at the Premier League club, Sky Sports has reported.

It had been speculated in the Press over the weekend that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was having second thoughts as to the future of Lampard after the supporters’ reaction to the prospect of the England international leaving the club, but Steve Kutner, Lampard’s agent, has revealed that Chelsea have made their stance on Lampard clear.

Chelsea executives told Frank in Japan during the Club World Cup then again reconfirmed with me after the Everton victory that in no circumstances will he be offered a new contract to stay at the club after the end of this season,” Kutner said. Lampard scored both of Chelsea’s goals in the 2-1 win at Goodison Park and was on target again in the 5-1 FA Cup victory at Southampton on Saturday, converting a penalty.

Kutner added: “Nothing since has changed in any respect. Frank has had to accept that and just wants to carry on playing football for Chelsea so as to finish the season as successfully as possible for the club that he loves.

Lampard has been at Chelsea since 2001, moving across London from West Ham United but has been linked with a switch to Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy.
