Arsenal fan poll reveals lack of faith in Wenger

A survey conducted by an Arsenal supporters group has revealed that faith in Arsene Wenger to be the right man to lead the Premier League club has plummeted, according to the Daily Mirror.

Arsene Wenger

Nearly 2,500 members of the Black Scarf Movement replied to the questionnaire and only 5% said they still feel Wenger is the best man to be Arsenal manager. Almost half of those polled want to see someone else installed as manager of the club and more than 40% feel Wenger should abandon his youth policy in favour of a different approach.

The vote also contained bad news for the Gunners hierarchy, with ticket prices coming under fire again, an overwhelming lack of support for the club’s chairman, Peter Hill-Wood, coming to the surface and an almost total feeling that the club is not being run effectively - less than 5% of respondents answered that it is.

Raj Patel, of the Black Scarf Movement, denied the group set out to criticise the manager. He said: “We are not an anti-Wenger group, but we are responsible for what our fans want and what they are thinking.

Our members, from this survey, clearly feel that the current board is achieving financial stability without being able to compete on the pitch - football is all about what you do on the pitch.
