Theo Walcott has signed a new three-and-a-half year deal at Arsenal, reports Sky Sports.

Theo Walcott

Contract negotiations have been ongoing for some time, and Arsene Wenger revealed earlier this week that he expected the former Southampton star to sign at some stage before Sunday’s visit to Stamford Bridge, when the Gunners take on London rivals Chelsea.

The England international reportedly rejected a five year deal worth £75k per week to stay in North London back in August, but club and player now appear to have reached a mutual agreement in principle, though the terms of the deal are as yet unclear.

Walcott began his career at St. Mary’s before joining the Gunners for a transfer fee of around £12m at the age of 16, and has since flourished into a familiar face in the Three Lions shirt. He has won 30 caps for his country, and has appeared in the red shirt of Arsenal 166 times, scoring 34 goals in the process.
