Man Utd target Zaha set for Palace stay

Sunday 20 January 2013

The Daily Mirror is reporting that one of the brightest talents in English football, Wilfried Zaha looks set to be staying put at Crystal Palace until at least the summer.

Wilfried Zaha

The 20-year-old Ivorian-born winger, who won his first cap for England in a friendly international against Sweden last November, is likely to be kept at Selhurst Park in a bid to keep the Eagles promotion charge going in the Championship.

The race to sign Zaha is being led by Manchester United, but a potential deal has stalled. Palace chairman Steve Parish met with United officials on Thursday, but a £10m bid including add-ons, was rejected by Ian Holloway’s side from the Premier League leaders.

He dazzled yesterday in Crystal Palace’s 0-0 draw with Bolton Wanderers, leaving them in fourth place in the table, just two points behind Leicester City in the second automatic promotion spot.

With Arsenal and Tottenham, both admirers of the player having not tabled any offers, a deal looks unlikely to be concluded in this transfer window.
