Redknapp impressed by QPR goalkeeper Cesar
Harry Redknapp has praised Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar following an outstanding display during the Hoops’ 1-1 draw against West Ham, writes Sky Sports.
The Brazil international denied Hammers’ on-loan striker Marouane Chamakh twice, and was instrumental in helping Rangers to a share of the spoils against Redknapp’s former club.
The 33-year-old moved to Loftus Road on a four year contract from Inter in August, and has impressed his manager in his 13 appearances. Redknapp said: “He's a world class keeper. I'm lucky here, because I've got two top class keepers. Rob (Green) was fantastic for us at West Brom in the Cup and Cesar, again, on Saturday was brilliant. You look at his CV and it's absolutely remarkable.
“He's won absolutely everything there is to win in the game and he's still relatively young for a keeper. He's world class - a top, top goalkeeper.”
Cesar has earned 64 caps for his native Brazil, which have included a Copa America title in 2004 and a Confederations Cup winners’ medal in 2009. He made 228 appearances in seven years at Inter before moving to Loftus Road in August 2012.
The result means QPR remain at the bottom of the table, four points behind 19th placed Wigan.
