QPR consider move for Chelsea reject Malouda

Monday 21 January 2013

Queens Park Rangers could be lining up a shock move for Chelsea midfielder Florent Malouda, according to the Daily Mail.

Florent Malouda

Malouda was excluded from the Blues’ 25-man Premier League squad at the start of the season and has not featured for the club since the Champions League final in May 2012. He has been training with the club’s academy this season, and has only six months remaining on his current contract.

Malouda revealed to the Daily Mail last week that he is still yet to meet Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez, despite the interim manager having been at the club for 56 days at the time of the article’s publication.

This indicates that the France international is in the final stages of winding down his reported £100k per week contract at Stamford Bridge and in search of a new club, and with QPR boss Harry Redknapp an admirer of the player a move could be on the cards.

The Metro reported last week that the 32-year-old could also be offered both a path out of Stamford Bridge and a return to his native home by Ligue 1 side Evian.
