Manchester United will push to finalise the signing of Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha by Thursday, the Daily Mirror has reported.

Wilfried Zaha

A fee of £15m has been agreed between the clubs and the England international could have a medical ahead of the transfer within the next 24 hours, bringing the move closer should the procedure be completed without a hitch.

United have spent the last few days in Qatar undergoing warm weather training - but manager Sir Alex Ferguson remained at home to oversee the move for the 20-year-old Zaha. The Mirror adds that Ferguson has met with Zaha in an attempt to keep the player headed for United after speculation Arsenal were also interested.

Zaha would be loaned back to Palace for the rest of the Championship season as the London club tries to keep up their promotion push. The Eagles are fourth in the second tier, inside the play-off places and two points short of automatic promotion.

The potential signing of Zaha comes as United face the prospect of losing Ashley Young for more than a month, the newspaper adds. Young has suffered knee ligament damage and could be missing for as long as six weeks, ruling him out of the first-leg of the Champions League double-header with Real Madrid.
