Friday 25 January 2013

Newcastle’s domination of the French transfer market continues as they look set to complete their fourth capture of the week. Football365.com is reporting the Magpies will add 23-year-old midfielder Moussa Sissoko to their ranks.

Moussa Sissoko, right

Ligue 1 club Toulouse, who are currently in mid-table, suspended Sissoko this week as he sought a move away from the club that he has represented since 2003, making over 150 league appearances for Les Pitchouns.

On Thursday, they released a club statement on their website confirming the transfer.

It said: “Moussa Sissoko has agreed with Newcastle United for a definitive transfer that takes effect today (Thursday). All the club wishes him continued success in his career.

There has been no comment on this development from the Premier League side.

Alan Pardew has already completed the signings of Mathieu Debuchy, Yoan Gouffran, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Massadio Haidara from France in this transfer window.

Sissoko has scored 19 goals in his club career, and won five French international caps since making his national bow against the Faroe Islands in October 2009.

He was high in demand, with the likes of Juventus and Tottenham rumoured in the press to be making a move in January.
