Tuesday 29 January 2013

Milan will again try to negotiate the transfer of Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli before the transfer window shuts, with the Daily Mirror reporting that the Serie A side’s latest offer includes former Portsmouth midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng.

City rejected a bid of £17m from Milan but the San Siro side have not given up the chase just yet, despite City’s desire to recoup the £24m they originally paid Inter for the Italy international.

Balotelli moved to the Premier League in 2010 and has been dogged by controversy during his time in English football, both on and off the field. His relationship with manager Roberto Mancini, dating back to their time together at Inter, has been particularly stormy, with the pair at one point having to be separated from a confrontation on the training pitch.

Mancini is however said to still consider Balotelli part of the first team and has included the Italy international in his thinking as City prepare to overhaul Manchester United at the top of the table and retain the Premier League title.

Balotelli has recovered from an illness well enough to be part of the City squad that travels to Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday, having trained over the weekend.
