Wednesday 30 January 2013

Carrow Road pits Norwich against Tottenham Hotspur in a clash between two sides attempting to get over FA Cup disappointment at the weekend.

Carrow Road

The Canaries were stunned by non-league Luton Town despite home advantage while Spurs were knocked out at Leeds despite Andre Villas-Boas fielding a near full-strength team. Chris Hughton’s hosts have been on an extremely poor run of late but will take confidence from the fact that his side are undefeated against their opponents in their previous two meetings this season in league and cup.

Influential central-defender Sebastien Bassong has shaken off a calf injury to take his place in the Norwich backline against his former club but on-loan from Spurs striker Harry Kane is ineligible to play. Steve Morison and John Ruddy (thigh) are both long-term absentees but goalkeeper Lee Camp will be in the squad after completing his signing from Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham may hand a debut to Lewis Holtby after the attacking midfielder completed his signing from Bundesliga club Schalke. Elsewhere, Jermain Defoe returns up front and with Emmanuel Adebayor still at the Africa Cup of Nations, should be partnered by the in-form Clint Dempsey. Tom Huddlestone (thigh), Sandro and Younes Kaboul (knee) remain absent.
