Luis Suarez has insisted he will not look to leave Liverpool if Brendan Rodgers’ side fail to qualify for the Champions League, Sky Sports has reported.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Mail, Suarez admitted he was not going to consider his future until the end of the season, when he could evaluate Liverpool’s performance over the full campaign, but stressed he was not looking to leave Anfield regardless of whether or not the Reds broke into the top four this year.

I will wait until the end of the season and see how we are doing,” Suarez said. “We won't know until then how we are doing and what our position is so I am prepared to wait until that time.

But I want to say now that, if you want to know what will happen to me if we don't qualify for the Champions League, then I will say this: I have a contract with Liverpool and I am very happy here. I will stay,” the Uruguayan forward added.

Suarez is Liverpool’s top scorer so far this season, netting 22 goals before the end of January, with Sky Sports describing him as Liverpool’s outstanding player not only this season but since he moved to the club from Ajax in January 2011.

His form has drawn the attention of a number of clubs across Europe but Suarez signed a new Liverpool contract late last year and has now confirmed his intention to stay at the club even if they do not qualify for next season’s Champions League.
