Queens Park Rangers have moved to dismiss concerns that the injury suffered by striker Loic Remy is a serious one, the BBC has reported.

Loic Remy

Manager Harry Redknapp told a meeting of supporters that Remy returned to training on Thursday and could even play against Swansea City on Saturday, the BBC adds. Redknapp had previously indicated that Remy would be missing from action with a groin injury.

Signed in January for £8m, Remy has made only two QPR starts so far, scoring on his debut against West Ham at Upton Park, and playing in the 0-0 draw at Loftus Road against Premier League champions Manchester City more than a week later.

Remy moved to Rangers from Marseille but has not been able to help Redknapp’s side off the bottom of the league. The R’s remain adrift, four points behind the other two relegation threatened teams, Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic, and six points short of safety.
